The Lumen earns CMA accolades

Content from 2023 editions of The Lumen earned awards at the 2024 Catholic Media Association Conference held in Atlanta last week. 
Content and Design Coordinator Renee Webb earned second place honors in Best Use of a Graphic - Best Chart or Information Graphic for her RAGBRAI 2023 four-diocese map.

"Great combination of information, visual appeal and mapping to help readers make sense of the news," from judges' comments. 

The staff earned an honorable mention for the 2023 Catholic Schools Week edition under Best Special Supplement or Special Issue with Advertising Emphasis.

"I appreciated the photos in the section all had good cutline information and good context! I liked the school enrollment story on Page 21; that kind of transparency offers great insight into the schools. Nice graphic on Page 24," from judges' comments. 

The staff also earned an honorable mention for the bishop's 50th ordination anniversary section under Best Print Special Supplement - on a Bishop's Transition.
