On Jan. 12, around 40 people (15 adults and 25 children) gathered to pray vespers at St. Joseph in Granville for the Baptism of the Lord. Afterward, they had a potluck at the parish center. Kids enjoyed playing in the gym and adults enjoyed faith-filled conversations. Vespers is prayed every second Sunday of the month at St. Joseph’s church at 4:30 p.m. followed by a potluck. A few times a year the time or location may vary, so check the bulletin for any additional details. This was inspired by the Catholic tradition of praying Vespers in common in church on Sundays. (CCC 1175). St. Joseph is one of the three churches in the newly formed St. Donatus Parish which also includes St. Anthony in Hospers and St. Mary in Alton. Families from surrounding parishes also participated.
