Le Mars native named Tyler bishop

Auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Dallas, Most Reverend J. Gregory Kelly, was named Bishop of Tyler on Dec. 20. He was born in 1956 in Le Mars to John Dennis and Marilean Kelly. The family moved to Colorado in 1957.

The Diocese of Tyler is comprised of 23,443 square miles in the State of Texas and has a total population of 1,460,387, of which 121,212 are Catholic.
