Gehlen honors veterans with prayer service

Gehlen Catholic honored military veterans with a powerful Veterans Day Prayer Service on Nov. 11 in the Beau Langel Memorial Gym.

All veterans in the community and surrounding area were welcome to enjoy the program. The service included music, a Quilts of Valor presentation, and the recognition of the veterans on the Gehlen Catholic Honor Wall.

Two Quilts of Valor were presented to John and Stan Kessenich. Their family was in attendance to take part in the honorary ceremony.

The program is a tradition at Gehlen Catholic where the entire student body pitches in to make it come to life. Students prepared artwork for the hallways, sang songs, wrote essays, and helped prepare a reception for guests following the service.
