Sister Janet Delperdang, OP, will celebrate her 70th jubilee with eight other Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa in 2025. Born Theresa to Peter and Wilhelmina (Meis) Delperdang in LeMars, she made profession with the Sisters of Christian Charity in 1955 and received the religious name Sister Janet.
In 1975, she transferred to the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa. She received a BS in elementary education and an MEd in school administration from De Paul University, Chicago, Ill.
Sister Janet’s ministry has been dedicated to teaching, educational administration, and pastoral care. As a Dominican, she taught at St. Patrick School, Rockford, Illinois; Most Pure Heart of Mary School, Mobile, Alabama, where she also served as principal; and Sacred Heart School, Washington, D.C. She was principal at All Saints Catholic School, Richmond, Virgina. She then served as director of religious education at St. Regina Catholic Parish, Parsons, Tennessee. Sister Janet was also a pastoral caregiver at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, Wisconsin. She currently ministers as a volunteer and resides in New Berlin, Wisconsin.
