Iowa Catholic Daughters of the Americas held their 56th Biennial CDA State Convention in Sioux City April 25 to 27.
In addition to the more than 200 CDA members from across the state, the Past National Regent Sherry Nilles of Sheldon was present as was the National Regent-Elect Essie Walker of Matthews, North Carolina.
Father ErpeldingWalker was among the speakers as was Father Michael Erpelding, a priest of the Diocese of Sioux City, who shared his vocations story. Father Erpelding will serve as the state CDA chaplain from 2025-2027.
During the gathering, new state officers were elected. The officers include State Secretary Vivian Streit, Algona; 1st Vice State Regent Julie Marlow,

CAltoona; State Regent Brenda Vore, Sioux City; 2nd Vice State Regent Deb Steger, Dyersville; and State Treasurer Jane Demmer.
The CDA court from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City – Our Lady of Grace Court #2591 received the CDA Campus Court Angel Scholarship.
A Memorial Mass was held during the convention to honor the deceased Iowa Catholic Daughters CDA members that have passed away since the last convention. Each court announced the name of the CDA members that passed from their court and a candle was then lit in their honor.
